Course Taken: Span 301s
In my SL course, we learned more about our Latino community we read some passages related to the experiences of migrant people in the US or in their way to come to the American Dream. We also did a service where we serve to our community. For my service, I did my hours in an Elementary School where I worked with migrant students and with bilingual classes. I learned the responsibilities of being a teacher and that the work they do is more than only teach a class. I also learned the importance of finding strategies for behind students to improve their academic progress in the classroom. Doing this project helped me to understand better the struggles of migrant people in another country that it's not their and the impact that it has to learn a new language. I been involved in my community for years, so doing this project it was not a problem since I love doing community service and learning the problems in my city.
