MLO 3: LITERARY AND CULTURAL KNOWLEDGE Students develop a reasonable understanding of the ways of thinking (ideas, beliefs, attitudes, values, philosophies), the behavioral practices (patterns of social interactions) and the cultural products – both tangible and intangible (for example, art, history, literature, music) of Hispanic societies. There are two pathways by which this outcome can be fulfilled: Students complete courses in Hispanic literature and/or Hispanic culture. These courses deal with the cultures and civilizations of Spain or Hispanic America, the literatures of Spain and/or Hispanic America, The theatre and cinema of Spain and/or Hispanic America, the art and art history of Spain and /or Hispanic America, the music and music history of Spain and/or Hispanic America, the historical, political and social development of Spain and/or Hispanic America. Courses: Span 306, Span 321, Span 426 To complete this MLO I took Span 306 in this course it was an introduction to the Pre-Columbian and post Colombian cultures of the Hispanic culture. In this class I learned many thing that I did not know about my culture. In Span 321 I learned about the Spain culture we read passages from Spanish Writers and I loved the way the use to express themselves. In Span 426 I learned more about the Hispanic culture, we had readings from different writers of different countries and we learned about their culture and the differences between each one, we also made connections with their historical context.
